| City 'finally catches up to' the speedy Sallieu Bundu |
|
Sallieu Bundu comes to the City Stars after working with MLS ally the Columbus Crew. The Sierra Leone striker looks to add both size and speed up top for City as they enter the 2008 campaign. In between his time on the practice field and lighting up the scoreboard on gameday, we finally had the chance to catch up with Bundu on a much deserved day off.
CCS: What is your goal with the Cleveland City Stars this season? SB: There is no doubt. I want to bring THE trophy back to Cleveland. CCS: What are some of your soccer strengths? SB: Anything with the ball at my feet. I feel I can hold a ball and allow for my teammates to surround and support me. I would also like to think I can score... CCS: Who is someone you would like to talk about soccer with one day? SB: I would love to sit down with Sir Alex Ferguson (Manchester United). He just knows so much about soccer and I would love to learn from him. CCS: When did you score your first goal? SB: 1996, in an area league game. CCS: Wow, that's quite specific. Was it a good goal? SB: Always. CCS: What three things would you take with you on a desert island? SB: I would have to take friends for companionship, a soccer ball of course, and some drinks if you were to get thirsty. CCS: Even with all that water around you? SB: Of course, you cannot trust that stuff. CCS: Anything else you would like to tell our Cleveland City Stars fans out there? SB: Thank you so much! You are such a big part of what we do! Know that my teammates and I are doing everything we can to get that championship back to Cleveland!
